One of the reasons we picked this weekend was because there were so many things available for you to do in addition to attending WordCamp. We’ll provide information for some of them below and add to the list as we learn of more things.

All weekend:

Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival – various locations downtown

This independent film festival is celebrating its 10th year of showcasing Alabama filmmakers and cutting edge films that do not normally come this way. We’re ending sessions with plenty of time for you to go and catch one of the feature films that evening.

Saturday:

Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival – Historic 4th Avenue North District

This annual event in one of the city’s historic African American commercial corridors transforms it into a hot bed of new and established sounds celebrating one of our country’s original musical genres.

Sunday:

Vulcan After Tunes – Vulcan Park & Museum

Outdoor music series – 3 p.m.
