{"id":671,"date":"2018-03-02T04:34:38","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T04:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2018.birmingham.wordcamp.org\/?page_id=671"},"modified":"2018-03-02T04:34:38","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T04:34:38","slug":"photography-guide","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/birmingham.wordcamp.org\/2018\/photography-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"Photography Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This page should get you up to speed about what we expect you to cover during the event as an official WordCamp Birmingham photographer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">General Tasks<\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Produce sharp, high quality images<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You need to edit and post process your images. We want only your best images, the way you intended them to look \u2013 processed and exported as jpgs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You should be able to deliver a certain amount of images, eg. three images per speaker (see below).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You are free to shoot in your own style, but we have some requirements what the photos should contain (see below).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We need you to tag images with names of speakers, rooms, etc. We will provide a list of tags to get you started.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When images are used, you will always be credited as the photographer, so make sure image meta data contains your details as well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You must be willing to release your images under the Creative Commons <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/4.0\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> license<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You must adhere to some easy ground rules:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don\u2019t take pictures of people that do not want to be photographed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don\u2019t get in the way of speakers or attendees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oh, and don\u2019t use flash during sessions, duh. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Schedule<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once the WordCamp Birmingham event schedule is finalized, we will draft a photo schedule and assign each photographer his\/her position. Assignments can be switched, we just have to make sure that each position is filled at all times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are looking for a total of four photographers, for the two main event days at the 4th &amp; 5th of August 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sessions &amp; Speakers<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Covering Sessions &amp; Speakers will be the main task.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will be in the sessions and have the ability to move around freely. (Always make sure not to disturb the speaker or the audience!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Below you find some examples of pictures we want from the speakers:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Portraits of Speakers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Speakers with slides in the background<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Audience reactions\/interaction<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our goal is to have three good images per speaker: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 close-up \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 half-length portrait \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 wide shot with an interesting slide in the background \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Add some audience candids to the mix<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hall &amp; Sponsors<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will move freely through the venue and look for interesting pictures.
