We are a community of thinkers, creators, and doers devoted to learning, developing, and growing WordPress. If you are a coder, designer, content creator, or small business, then this is your event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why should I pay to go to a conference?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>WordCamp is an opportunity to troubleshoot your WordPress issues, learn more about the platform, connect with others, and grow your business. And WordCamp is much cheaper than other conferences. For $50, you get two full days of lectures and events.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do I need to be an advanced user to attend?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Nope! Users of all experience levels are welcome. In fact, we encourage novices to attend. WordCamp is a great place to get started with WordPress.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Will there be vendors present?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes! Representatives from several of our sponsors will be present, including Bluehost and Knownhost.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What if the topics covered don&#8217;t address my particular needs?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re having trouble addressing your specific problems, come see us at the Happiness Bar!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is the \u2018Happiness Bar\u2019?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/2019.birmingham.wordcamp.org\/2019\/07\/09\/what-is-a-happiness-bar\/\">Happiness Bar<\/a> is a safe space for bloggers, developers, and small businesses to brainstorm, discuss, and fix their WordPress issues. The bar is completely free \u2013 just grab a seat, pour yourself a coffee, and get to it. Our volunteers are excited to nerd out with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can I bring my spouse or a friend and will he\/she have to pay full price?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Spouses and friends will have to purchase their own tickets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are meals provided?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Lunch and coffee will be available for everyone on both days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Will there be after-hours events?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, it will be Saturday evening.  Details to be shared soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How should I dress?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Business casual is most appropriate &#8211; dresses and ties are not necessary.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>WordCamp Birmingham 2019 will be held in Rosewood Hall, in Homewood, AL. If you do not have a car, we recommend either renting a car or hiring a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/rider\/cities\/birmingham-al\">Lyft<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/cities\/birmingham-al\/\">Uber<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are there hotels close to the venue?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/bhmal-aloft-birmingham-soho-square\/\">Aloft Birmingham<\/a> is 0.1 miles from Rosewood Hall, and rates are competitive. Other hotels include Embassy Suites (0.6 miles away) and Hampton Inn (0.9 miles away). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that WordCamp Birmingham is not affiliated with any local hotels and isn\u2019t responsible for rates or service, so book rooms at your best discretion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Are tickets still available?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Absolutely!
