What is WordCamp?

An Annual Conference All About WordPress in Birmingham, Alabama

WordCamp Birmingham is a volunteer-run conference centered around WordPress, the free and open-source software, powering approximately 27% of the internet and 75 million websites around the world, and this year we too are embracing peace, love, happiness, and all things WordPress.

WordCamp Birmingham believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, preferred operating system, programming language, or text editor. (Code of Conduct)

WordCamp is attended by designers, developers, business owners, bloggers, copywriters, consultants, hobbyists, employees who use WordPress as part of their job, and anyone else who uses WordPress in any way. Attendees range from the novice who is brand new to WordPress, to the savvy WordPress power user, to advanced designers and developers who make their living with WordPress.

We invite you to come and welcome you to be a part of it!

Sponsors

Along with a larger event and larger venue, we have a much larger cost. WordCamp Birmingham is a non-profit, volunteer-run, community event that wouldn’t be possible without the support from generous sponsors. We’ve created sponsorship levels to fit every budget, so no matter what size budget you have, you can join in and show your support for WordCamp and our local Birmingham area WordPress community.

Volunteers

Like all WordCamps, WordCamp Birmingham is planned, organized, and run by volunteers from our local WordPress community — and a critical part of making WordCamp Sacramento a success is our day of event volunteers — and we need your help! As a volunteer, you’ll help our event run smoothly, make sure our attendees have a great time, and bolster our local WordPress community. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to meet more people in the community, deepen relationships, and give back to the open source software we all use and love.

There are limited volunteer positions available, as a result, everyone who applies to volunteer may not receive a volunteer role.
