Privacy laws are being passed at an increasing rate (for example, in the last six months, Colorado and Virginia have both passed new privacy laws) and, as such, the privacy requirements for websites are also increasing.
In this talk, attendees will learn about the requirements of privacy by design, including key concepts and how to implement them when designing websites.
I will also share examples of good and bad privacy by design practices such as:
- How to get proper consent for the collection of personal information
- Cookie banner design
- Posting a Privacy Policy
- What you need to tell your clients prior to installing services such as Google Analytics
- Designing the website for privacy-forward marketing practices.
The goal of this talk will be to educate attendees so that they know how to design and build websites that comply with the privacy requirements that their clients are subject to.
